Sri
Lanka's first capital and the main ancient city (300 B.C.) scattered
with ruins of its past temples, shrines, sculptures, giant man-made
reservoirs and the grand stairway of 1,840 granite steps to the
top of Mihintale which is the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. The
sacred Bo Tree is seen here, which is a branch of the Bo Tree under
which Buddha gained enlightenment, is now the oldest documented
