Hiking
is a delightful way to experience
the different landscapes, fascinating
plants, birds and other wildlife of
Sri Lanka. The possibilities are almost
endless, such as an easy hike across
gently undulating hills, past tiny
hamlets and farms in Gampaha district
(about an hour from Colombo), or a
hiking and camping adventure in the
seldom – visited forests of
the Knuckles Ranga near Kandy. One
highly recommended walk is the 4 Km
hike across the grassy Horton Plains
(over 2,00 metres high) to the dramatic
escarpment, appropriately known as
world`s End.
